Wrexham crazy comeback puts Red Dragons back into playoff position for promotion to Premier League

Wrexham sure does have a flair for the dramatic.
The Red Dragons trailed by a goal to Ipswich Town with less than half an hour to play in Saturday’s match, but that’s not the way it ended.
Wrexham rattled off three goals from the 66th minute on, rallying for a 5-3 win.
The win was crucial in the second-tier EFL Championship table — Wrexham is into sixth place.
At the end of the season, the third-through-sixth place teams take part in the promotion playoff. Whoever wins that playoff moves up to the top division, the English Premier League.
Wrexham started fast on Saturday, with the big forward Kieffer Moore scoring just six minutes in.
Anis Mehmeti equalized for Ipswich, and then Josh Windass put Wrexham up 2-1 in the 37th minutes.
In first half stoppage time, Ivan Azon knotted it at 2-apiece with a goal for Ipswich, and less than two minutes into the second half, Cedric Kipre put Ipswich up 3-2.
George Thomason was clutch to equalize in the 66th minute for Wrexham.
In the 75th minute, Callum Doyle put the Red Dragons ahead.
And in the 86th minute, Nathan Broadhead provided the exclamation point.

Wrexham sure do have a Hollywood style about their play. The Red Dragons don’t have a ton of business-like 1-0 wins.
But as the tail end of the season approaches, wins are wins, and they’re all the more fun when they’re wild and wacky. Wrexham sure has that part figured out.
