Why are there no Champions League matches today?

The reason there are no games this Tuesday (January 27) is because all matches are taking place on Wednesday (January 28).

As part of the changed format beginning in the 2024/25 season, UEFA decided to stage all games on matchday eight at the same time in order to make the competition fairer. All 18 matches will therefore kick off at 9 p.m. CET. The below table shows how that translates to major territories around the globe.

  Date Kickoff time
USA Weds, Jan. 29 3:00 p.m. ET
Canada Weds, Jan. 29 3:00 p.m. ET
UK Weds, Jan. 29 8:00 p.m. GMT
Australia Thurs, Jan. 30 7:00 a.m. AEDT
India Thurs, Jan. 30 1:30 a.m. IST
