We Understand the Importance of This, and We Could Have Scored More

Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister appeared in a press statement following the 5-2 victory over West Ham United in the 25th round of the English Premier League at Anfield.

The player said in his interview: “Yes, we could have scored more. They had some chances too. I prefer to be positive and see that we scored five goals, which is really good.”

Regarding West Ham’s inability to score more: “That was because we were very good in attack. We know we need to improve in some areas, especially defensively, because the gap is too big for us, that’s the reality. The good thing is that we won. The gap has become smaller with Aston Villa and the other leading teams. We are very happy with the result, and we need to continue improving.”

Regarding scoring four goals last month: “I really love it, I love being inside the penalty area and scoring goals. Sometimes it happens, and sometimes it doesn’t. I’m happy that I can help the team, and at the same time, I’m gaining more confidence.”

He concluded about the team gaining momentum: “Now that we’ve spent some time together, things have become easier for us, and we understand each other. The last four or five months are the period when teams show their true capabilities. This is what we want. We realize how important qualifying for the Champions League is for the club and for us as a team. The goal is clear, and we will do our utmost to qualify and get closer to the leading teams.”
