Diego Simeone, the coach of Atletico Madrid, spoke after the 1-0 victory over Real Oviedo in the Spanish league, affirming that his team improved throughout the match until they succeeded in securing the win.

Simeone said: “We started the match a bit slow, but our performance gradually improved. In the second half, we played well, and in the end, Julian Alvarez’s goal came, which is beneficial for us and for him as well.”

The Argentine coach added, speaking about Julio Diaz: “He worked well defensively and showed character when attacking. He wasn’t afraid. I’m happy for him; it’s a great job by Fernando, a reward for the youth of the reserve team.”
