Union Approaches Signing a Defender from the Cypriot League

The Saudi Al-Ittihad Club has completed the signing procedures with the Cameroonian defender Stefan Keller, a player from the Cypriot club AEL Limassol, in a move aimed at strengthening the backline before the elite Asian commitments.

The Saudi sports newspaper confirmed that the Al-Ittihad administration officially signed with Stefan Keller, to be registered in the team’s list participating in the elite Asian Champions League competitions.

Keller’s deal came to enhance the team’s defensive options, especially with Al-Ittihad’s need to strengthen its ranks in the continental championship during the upcoming stage of the competitions.

In the same context, Al-Ittihad Club also announced today the signing of French striker Georges Ilienkhna, coming from the French club Monaco, to support the team during the current season.

The transfer period witnessed some files stumbling within Al-Ittihad, after the failure to sign Moroccan Youssef En-Nesyri, coinciding with the departure of Frenchman N’Golo Kanté to Turkish Fenerbahçe.

The deal for Portuguese Gustavo Sá, a player from Famalicão, also stalled, affecting the completion of some previously planned offensive moves.

Al-Ittihad currently occupies the sixth place in Group B of the elite Asian Champions League with 9 points, collected from three wins against three losses.
