11:08: Lookman closes on Atlético move

Winger Ademola Lookman is close to completing a move from Serie A side Atalanta to LaLiga giants Atlético Madrid. The deal is expected to be announced today and is expected to be a for a fixed €35m fee with a further €5m in add-ons.

10:52: Celtic reject second bid for Engels

Celtic have reportedly rejected a second bid in the region of €19.6 million from Nottingham Forest for midfielder Arne Engels. Engels has made 23 appearances in the Scottish Premier League this season, scoring four times and providing two assists.

Struggling Championship side Leicester City are in talks to sign attacker Divine Mukasa from Premier League giants Manchester City on loan for the remainder of the season. The highly-rated teenager Mukasa has broken into the City first team this season, making six appearances in all competitions. He was given his first market value of €3m this month.

10:35: Nypan returns to Man City from Boro

Norwegian midfielder Sverre Nypan has returned to Manchester City from his loan spell at Championship side Middlesbrough. The 19-year-old had joined Boro in the summer and went on to make 22 appearances in all competitions. City say he will now return to Manchester where his development will be overseen by Pep Guardiola and the the club’s first-team staff.

Reports suggest that Arsenal won’t be recalling midfielder Ethan Nwaneri form his loan move at Marseille following a broke foot injury to Mikel Merino, as the Gunners reportedly don’t have a recall clause in the deal.

10:20: Palace have bid rejected for Club Brugge CB Ordoñez

Club Brugge have reportedly rejected a bid from Crystal Palace for centre-back Joel Ordoñez. Palace are seeking defensive reinforcements after the departure of captain Marc Guéhi to Manchester City earlier this month, though their offer did not meet Brugge’s valuation of the player.

10:17 Fulham not expected to get PSV’s Pepi over the line

Fulham are not expected to sign PSV striker Ricardo Pepi on transfer deadline day but retain an interest in the United States international going forward. Pepi, 23, was keen on a move to Craven Cottage but reports in the Netherlands say any move was dependent on PSV securing a suitable replacement in time.

Seagulls boss Fabian Hürzeler said, “Brajan wants regular football, and we are not able to guarantee him that in the second half of the season, so this loan represents a good move for all parties.”

The big news of Deadline Day looks to revolve once again around Liverpool and a centre-back. The Reds have agreed a deal for the summer to sign young Rennes CB Jérémy Jacquet. The fee Liverpool will pay is expected to be around €60m plus €10m in add-ons, with personal terms agreed.

Wolves are set to complete a loan move for Marseille’s England midfielder Angel Gomes. Talks have been ongoing between the clubs over a return to the Premier League for the former Manchester United player. Sources are indicating a deal is at an advanced stage over an initial loan that will include an option to buy.
