Manchester City star Omar Marmoush appeared in press statements following the qualification to the English League Cup final after defeating Newcastle United 3-1 in the second leg of the semi-final, in the match held at the Etihad Stadium, noting that the first leg had ended with Manchester City winning 2-0.

Marmoush, who scored two goals, said: “We showed a very strong mentality. We were united as one team, and from the first minute, we were fully focused on the task at hand. We showed our character and passion, and we are very happy to reach the final.”

He added: “I was a bit lucky with the first goal, my touch wasn’t the best but the ball went into the net. I always try to move correctly and be in the right place, and I am very happy to score two goals.”

On scoring five goals in total against Newcastle: “I was hoping to score a hat-trick today, but I am very happy to score two goals, and this gives us all the confidence to win the match, and I hope we succeed in winning the final.”

On the chance to win his first title with Manchester City if they win the final: “Manchester City is one of the biggest clubs in the world, we are here to win titles. We give our best every day to reach these finals and win championships. I hope we succeed in achieving this for all the new players, as well as the players who were here before, as they have shown us that every medal and every title has great value.”
