This is the Duo’s Stance, and Facing Tottenham is a Real Challenge

He said about the readiness of the duo Mason Mount and Matthijs de Ligt: “Mason is closer to returning, he doesn’t have much left, and we hope it won’t take long. As for de Ligt, he is doing well and making very positive progress. It’s still too early for his return at the moment, but we hope it won’t be much longer.”
He added about his start with the team and the development of performance: “Things progressed quickly from the beginning, step by step without looking too far ahead. The first two matches were prominent, and we expected a tough start, which helped increase the focus and vitality of the group. Over time, the picture became clearer regarding the form we want, the direction we are heading in, and our style of play. We feel confident because we have a lot of room for growth and development within the team and the lineup.”
Regarding the match against Tottenham, he continued: “Tottenham represents a real challenge. The way they finished their last game against Manchester City, despite injuries and numerous changes, made things more difficult for them. Now, players have started to return, and they have outstanding forwards who excel at exploiting spaces behind the defense, playing forward, and frequently attacking the penalty area. It will be a slightly different match from what we’ve played in recent weeks, but we are looking forward to it and we are in a good position. The players have worked excellently this week, and we are keeping our feet on the ground. We don’t want to get carried away by what happened; the most important thing is what’s coming next.”
Regarding his memories with Tottenham as a player: “The transfer was very quick. I have fond memories with Tottenham and my time at the club, even though it wasn’t long, it was very enjoyable. It was a good team, and Martin Jol was the coach, and I learned a lot during that short period. Moving to Manchester United was a big leap at that time, and I felt it immediately. As soon as you enter that place as a football player, everything changes from the first day inside the locker room and meeting the coach.”
He concluded about his previous conversation with Thomas Frank in September: “Life can certainly change. We got along very well, and that was the first time I truly met him. We talked about football, processes, and some ideas. He was very cooperative, and I enjoyed talking to him. It would be nice to see him again.”
