Serious Injury Hits Asensio Against Benfica

Real Madrid’s Spanish international star Raúl Asensio suffered a severe injury during his team’s match against Benfica in the second leg of the playoff qualifying for the Champions League round of 16, at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

The player fell to the ground following an aerial clash with his teammate Eduardo Camavinga, which necessitated a swift intervention from the medical team, as it was clear he was unable to get up due to the injury.

Asensio left the field in the 76th minute on a stretcher, with a bandage on his neck, amid intense concern visible on the faces of the Real Madrid players who closely watched his medical assistance.

The player is expected to be immediately transferred to the hospital for thorough medical examinations to determine the nature and severity of the injury, pending an official statement revealing details of his health condition.
