Sacha Boey set for Galatasaray return from Bayern Munich as terms revealed

Sacha Boey is closing in on a return to Galatasaray from Bayern Munich. The 25-year-old played 83 times for the Turkish giants before completing a €30 million move to Bayern in January 2024. Boey has made 38 appearances for the Bavarian club, winning the Bundesliga last season but he’s not been a guaranteed starter.

The Frenchman has played 15 times for Bayern this season but he’s only made six starts and he’s surplus to requirements under Vincent Kompany. Although the Bundesliga transfer window has closed, the deadline for Süper Lig clubs is Friday and Boey is nearing a return to Gala. It’s understood that it will be a loan deal until the end of the season with Gala covering his salary and a buy-option clause has been included.

Boey will be a popular addition with Gala well-placed to win another Süper Lig title this season and the Frenchman spoke of his affection for the fanbase, during his time in Munich. “Galatasaray fans are really extraordinary,” said Boey. “My best moment was definitely when we won the league together. When you leave Turkey, the pressure doesn’t affect you anymore: there’s so much pressure there that you can play anywhere afterwards. For example, when I play in full stadiums in Germany now, I’m well prepared because I experienced all of that in Turkey. I know what it means to play in front of big crowds.”
