Real Madrid upset with refereeing decisions after draw with Real Mallorca
Real Madrid expressed, through its official channel, its strong dissatisfaction with the referee’s performance in the team’s match against Real Mallorca, which ended in a 1-1 draw on Sunday in the first round of the Spanish League
The channel reported that referee “Soto Grado” denied the royal club two penalty kicks, in addition to not taking a decision to expel one of Mallorca’s players. The channel explained the details of the controversial situations, as there was a clear opportunity to award a penalty kick when Kylian Mbappe ran through the middle of the field and was about to enter the penalty area before being obstructed by Maffeo
It also referred to another situation in the second half when Bellingham sent the ball towards the penalty area after executing a set piece, and at that moment he was pulled by the edges of his shirt while trying to shoot the ball. At the end of the statement, the channel criticized the “Media Pro” company concerned with broadcasting the Spanish League matches, stressing: “It is unacceptable that an appropriate replay of the penalty kick against Militao was not provided. The responsibility is distributed between the referees and the broadcasting rights. The actions of Media Pro raise questions about the extent of commitment to integrity”
