“I go to the hospital and I’m in agony obviously and they give me some pain relief. I just felt my neck getting bigger. I got the surgeon in quickly because I was panicking.”

“I’ve had 38 operations so this normally doesn’t bother me, but this time I was really s******g myself.

“I was saying, ‘please get the surgeon.’ I was crying my eyes out!”

In July, the footie legend was again rushed to hospital in another health scare.

The Spurs, Newcastle, Rangers and England great was found semi-conscious by a pal in the bedroom of his home at Poole, Dorset.

Gazza, 58, was admitted to an intensive care ward but was later moved to an acute medical unit.

Pal Steve Foster, who found him, said at the time that Gazza would “like to thank everyone for the support he’s received so far from so many old friends who wish him well and want to see him back to his best”.

Mr Foster, who is also Gazza’s driver and personal assistant, had rushed the star there in his car after finding him in his bedroom.

The Sun also reported how the footie ace “came back from the dead” after dying on the operating table during an 18-day induced coma.

Gazza previously opened up on the moment his heart stopped beating while he battled alcohol addiction at a clinic in Arizona 12 years ago.

Gascoigne was given an injection straight into his heart by doctors to keep him alive.

The ace had gone cold turkey in an attempt to kick the booze.

But it saw him end up in an 18-day induced coma before docs brought him “back from the dead.”

The incident sparked fake claims that Gascoigne had actually passed away.

Gascoigne is seen as one of the greatest playmakers of his generation, with a stellar club and international career, with clubs including Newcastle United, Spurs, Lazio and Rangers.

He was capped 57 times and scored ten goals for the Three Lions between 1988 and 1998.

His tears as England crashed out of the 1990 World Cup in the semi-final against Germany touched the nation and he scored an unforgettable wonder goal at Euro 96.

His latest health scare comes after his company was shut down at the start of July when it failed to file records on time.

Companies House announced the firm has been struck off and dissolved.

Gazza was represented for years by booking agent Katie Davies, but she has now stepped back from involvement in his day-to-day life.
