Ounahi Nearing Return with Girona

These developments come after Ounahi’s near recovery from the injury he sustained in his left calf during the Moroccan national team’s match against Tanzania in the Round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations, which took place on January 4 at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The same sources confirmed that this week will be crucial in determining the player’s readiness to participate against Barcelona, noting that there is a possibility he might enter the match, despite being ruled out as a starter due to his absence from competition for nearly six weeks. However, his inclusion in the squad would be positive news for the coaching staff.
The medical staff of Girona Club announced in a statement issued on January 28th that Ounahi suffered a calf injury, without specifying the duration of his absence, in accordance with the club’s usual policy.
Considering his time away from the field, the Barcelona match was considered a potential date for his return, pending his resumption of group training in the coming days and the full recovery of his physical fitness.
If he is unable to play against Barcelona, sources suggest that Ounahi is likely to be ready to return in the following round, during the Girona match against Alaves, scheduled for February 23, at the Mendizorrotza Stadium.
