Officially.. Emad El-Nahhas Resigns from Coaching Al-Zawraa

Attention in the Iraqi sports community is turning to important developments within the corridors of Al-Zawraa Club, after it was confirmed that the Egyptian coach Emad El-Nahhas has left coaching the team, following the recent loss to Al-Karkh with a score of 3-1 in the Iraqi Stars League competition.

Although the management of Al-Zawraa Club has not yet issued an official statement, most sources close to the club confirmed that El-Nahhas resigned from his position after a series of results that did not meet the aspirations of the fans, especially after exiting the AFC Champions League 2, and then stumbling locally against Al-Karkh.

Media reports, including confirmations from the Qatari Al-Kass channel, indicated that the Egyptian coach officially ended his mission with “the Eagles,” awaiting the administration’s official announcement in the coming hours.

The team showed inconsistent performance and a clear lack of focus, which increased the criticism directed at the technical staff recently, especially with the decline in results in the league and the team’s distance from the top positions, despite having postponed matches.

In a touching humanitarian gesture, team star Hassan Abdul Karim bid farewell to his coach with a message on his official accounts, saying: “Respected coach, I wish you success and prosperity wherever you are, a wonderful coach and a great person who will always remain in my heart.”

Abdul Karim’s words reflect the good relationship that united the players with the coach, despite the difficult circumstances the team has recently faced, confirming that the issue was not about the relationship within the locker room as much as it was related to results and fan pressure.

Al-Zawraa had contracted Emad El-Nahhas to replace the dismissed coach Abdul Ghani Shahid, hoping to return the team to the path of victories and compete for titles, but the experiment did not last long, ending with another departure in the technical staff, opening the door to a new transitional phase within the Al-Zawraa house.
