Officially.. Barcelona Announces Signing of Ajay Tavares

Barcelona has concluded the signing of young talent Ajay Tavares (16 years old), officially announcing the acquisition of the winger from Norwich City after resolving the bureaucratic issues that delayed the announcement since the last winter transfer window.

After weeks of negotiations, the Catalan club received the green light from the International Federation of Association Football to complete the transfer procedures. The player arrived in Barcelona to undergo a medical examination and officially sign his contract.

Tavares is internationally recognized with England’s youth teams and also holds a Portuguese passport, which facilitated his transfer procedures before reaching adulthood.

Despite his young age, the winger is distinguished by advanced physical abilities that enabled him to play against opponents two or three years older, which caught the attention of several clubs inside and outside England, before Barcelona moved quickly to finalize the deal.

The plan is for the player to join the youth team under the leadership of Pol Planas, with a gradual promotion to train with the reserve team under the supervision of coach Juliano Belletti, as part of a long-term development project for the club’s talents.
