Nottingham Forest announce Vitor Pereira appointment | Football | Sport

Nottingham Forest have appointed Vitor Pereira as their new manager in a desperate attempt to keep the club in the Premier League. The Reds had been searching for their FOURTH permanent manager of the season after sacking Sean Dyche following Wednesday’s 0-0 draw against rock bottom Wolves.

But owner Evangelos Marinakis has moved quickly to bring in Pereira as their new head coach on a [one-and-a-half year contract], a matter of months since he left Wolves. The 57-year-old Portuguese has been handed the task of dragging the club away from the fringes of the Premier League relegation zone.

Forest have also confirmed that Pereira will be joined  Filipe Jorge Monteiro Almeida, Luis Miguel Moreira Da Silva, Bruno Filipe Araujo De Moura and Pedro Simao Capela Silva Lopes at the City Ground.

A club statement said: “Nottingham Forest is delighted to confirm that Vitor Pereira has been appointed as head coach on an 18-month deal.

“He will be joined by coaching staff Filipe Jorge Monteiro Almeida (assistant coach), Luis Miguel Moreira Da Silva (assistant coach), Bruno Filipe Araujo De Moura (head of physical performance and opposition analysis) and Pedro Simao Capela Silva Lopes (opposition analyst).”

Pereira, who worked with Marinakis during a spell at Greek side Olympiacos, was axed from his role as head coach at Wolves in November following a disastorous start to the season.
