Messi Leads Inter Miami to Another Victory in MLS

Argentinian Rodrigo De Paul opened the scoring for Inter Miami in the 17th minute with a powerful shot that found the net, before captain Lionel Messi extended his team’s lead in the 27th minute with a second goal after receiving a through ball, going one-on-one with the goalkeeper, and skillfully placing it in the goal.
In the second half, DC United attempted to get back into the match and succeeded in reducing the deficit in the 75th minute through Tai Baribo, who followed up on a rebound from the goalkeeper. The home team pressed in the final minutes in search of an equalizer but were unable to score another goal.
With this victory, Inter Miami raised its tally to six points from three league matches, achieving its second win of the season, while D.C. United’s tally remained at three points. The match also saw Messi score his 899th career goal, bringing him closer to reaching his 900th goal.
