Marc Bernal Scores His First Goal for Barcelona

Barcelona experienced a fluctuating match against Real Mallorca, ultimately securing victory thanks to the expertise of Robert Lewandowski and the touch of a promising young player named Marc Bernal. The match saw the Polish striker open the scoring and the academy player conclude the goals with his first scoring mark in the first team’s jersey.

According to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo,” Barcelona entered the match uncomfortably despite dominating the play, as the most dangerous chances belonged to Mallorca, who exploited Jan Virgil’s speed to trouble the Catalan team’s defense. Before half an hour had passed, Robert Lewandowski, who wore the captain’s armband, succeeded in breaking the defensive block and opening the scoring.

The goal came after a powerful shot from Marcus Rashford rebounded off David Lopez, reaching Lewandowski inside the penalty area, where he did not hesitate to place it in the net. The video assistant referee confirmed his position was correct. The Polish striker increased his tally to ten goals in the league this season and thirteen goals in all competitions, having previously scored in the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League.

In the second half, Marc Bernal stole the spotlight by scoring his first goal for Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou in front of his home fans. The young midfielder came on in the second half of the match and managed to make his mark in about 25 minutes, following his gradual return from a severe injury that had kept him off the field for a year last season.

Bernal received a deep pass from Fermín López, then charged forward powerfully, surpassing the defenders before skillfully dribbling past Pablo Maffeo inside the box. He shot the ball, which Omar Mascarell tried to clear, but it ended up in the net. This goal gave the midfielder a significant morale boost and confirmed his usual attacking prowess.
