Man United predicted XI vs West Ham as Benjamin Sesko decision made | Football | Sport

Manchester United have made a superb start under Michael Carrick’s stewardship, and following Saturday’s triumph over one of his former sides Tottenham, he’ll be eager to deliver another impressive performance at West Ham this evening. The quick turnaround from the Old Trafford victory raises questions about potential squad rotation. Maintaining Kobbie Mainoo’s place in the starting eleven appears essential if United are to sustain their impressive run.
Since his return to the side, he has been outstanding, particularly in Saturday’s clash against Spurs where his ability to orchestrate play through the centre was exceptional. There may be consideration given to introducing Leny Yoro into the starting line-up in place of Harry Maguire should the seasoned centre-half require a breather, though the inclination would be to maintain consistency in the back four.
The primary dilemma centres on whether to rest Casemiro for this fixture. United’s challenge is the absence of another squad member capable of fulfilling the defensive midfield role to the same standard as the Brazilian.
Manuel Ugarte would be the natural alternative, but the Fulham encounter demonstrated how the Reds can surrender control without Casemiro anchoring the midfield.
Consequently, leeping Casemiro in the starting line-up is likely to be Carrick’s favoured option. The caretaker manager will be hoping the 33-year-old can navigate this match before enjoying an extended break ahead of the Everton fixture on February 23.
The attack is where United might mix things up. Matheus Cunha will remain on the left wing as Patrick Dorgu is still out of action.
Bryan Mbeumo must start for United but could be shifted to the right wing to give Amad a break. This then opens up an opportunity for Benjamin Sesko to give Carrick something to think about.
Sesko has earned more playing time due to his outstanding form since Ruben Amorim’s departure, and with a limited number of matches between now and the end of the season, Carrick might decide tonight is the moment to let him start.
Man Utd predicted starting XI vs West Ham: Lammens; Shaw, Martinez, Maguire, Dalot; Casemiro, Mainoo; Cunha, Fernandes, Mbeumo; Sesko
