The winter transfer window slammed shut on Monday evening for most of Europe’s top leagues. It may have been a slightly quieter window than usual, but that didn’t stop over €2 billion being splashed on new signings over the course of the month. Here at Transfermarkt, we have compiled a list of the 25 most expensive signings of 2026 so far. They can all be scrolled through below.

The 25 most expensive signings of the winter window

Leading the way is Manchester City’s €72 million acquisition of winger Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth. In second place comes Crystal Palace’s Deadline Day record signing of striker Jørgen Strand Larsen; the Eagles paid a initial €49.7m to sign the Norwegian. In third comes Flamengo’s audacious €42m signing of Lucas Paquetá in a real flex of modern Brazilian football’s financial muscle. Fourth and fifth goes to Conor Gallagher and Brennan Johnson who moved to Tottenham and Palace respectively – both for €40m.

Ademola Lookman to Atlético Madrid (€35m), Oscar Bobb to Fulham (€31.2m), Kader Meïté to Al-Hilal (€30m), Taty Castellanos to West Ham (€29m), and Rayan to Bournemouth (€28.5m) complete the top 10. Many other interesting deals feature in the top 25, including Mattéo Guendouzi’s €28m move to Fenerbahce (11th), Marc Guéhi’s €23m switch to Man City (13th), and Rodrigo De Paul moving to Inter Miami for €15m (24th).
