Lens Announces Signing of Maximin

Saint-Maximin, aged 28, will join Lens for six months until June 2026, where he will wear the number 9 jersey. He will strengthen the team’s offensive line with his great speed, individual skills, and high ability to make a difference.
The player has had a remarkable career, starting at Saint-Étienne, with experiences at Monaco, Bastia, and Nice, before his star shone brightly at Newcastle United in the English Premier League. There, he delivered four outstanding seasons and was one of the top playmakers and dribblers in the Premier League, contributing to the historic qualification for the UEFA Champions League.
Saint-Maximin also had experiences outside Europe with Al-Ahli Saudi, then Fenerbahçe in Turkey under the leadership of José Mourinho, and finally with Club América, before deciding to return to France in search of a new challenge.
On his part, the club’s sporting director, Jean-Louis Leca, expressed great happiness with the deal, affirming that Saint-Maximin is a well-known player in the French league for his speed and offensive explosiveness, as well as his human values. He noted that the player made a great effort to complete the transfer and be closer to his family.
The Lens fans are counting on Saint-Maximin’s international experience and his ability to make a quick impact during a crucial stage of the season.
