Inter Milan Plans to Sign Liverpool Defender

Liverpool is facing significant difficulties with their French defender Ibrahima Konate, who has yet to sign a new contract with the team, amid the management’s growing impatience, according to a report by “TEAMtalk”.

Konaté, who is 26 years old, is a key player alongside Virgil van Dijk and is in the final year of his contract with Liverpool. He aims to maintain his position away from competition next season if he continues with the team.

Despite the ongoing dialogue between the two parties, the player did not show any responsiveness, prompting Liverpool to set a short deadline for signing the contract, otherwise the offer would be officially withdrawn. Real Madrid was mentioned as a potential destination, but recent reports indicate that Inter Milan is planning to take advantage of Konate’s contract situation and sign him without paying a transfer fee.

Inter had hoped to sign Konate last January, but Liverpool’s defensive injuries prevented that. With the potential departure of Stefan de Vrij and Acerbi in the summer, Inter is looking to acquire a ready young defender. Konate is considered the ideal choice to strengthen the backline alongside Alessandro Bastoni, one of the best defenders in the world.

Inter’s interest in this player comes at a time when the team is dominating the Italian league and has reached the Champions League final in two of the last three seasons, reflecting the club’s plans to strengthen its defense and ensure competition at the highest European levels.
