Inter Milan Exits Champions League After Loss to Bodo

Kivo said, “We tried everything we could from the start, but we faced a very organized team with a deep defense that included 10 or 11 players behind the ball.”
He continued: “Not scoring first gave them extra psychological comfort because they knew we needed two goals to reach extra time.”
He added: “I have nothing to blame my players for; they gave all their energy, but in the second half, Bodo had more energy than us.”
He continued: “We gave it our all and tried to break the tie in every way, but they scored two goals after the break, and all we can do is congratulate them, as they deserve to advance.”
The Inter coach explained: “Our goal was to be competitive, and we always said that, but unfortunately we were not able to compete in the Champions League.”
He added: “We started well and won four consecutive matches, then we lost some points despite the good performance. At this level, if you don’t take your chances and make the right decisions, you get punished at the first mistake.”
Kivo pointed out the difficulty of the match schedule, saying: “It’s hard to find the energy when you play every three days, and I can’t ask more from my players.”
He concluded his remarks: “There is great disappointment because we wanted at least to be able to compete in Europe, but we faced a team that has played only four matches in the past three months, all in the Champions League. We turn the page and move forward.”
