Infantino Downplays Security Concerns in Mexico

In a notable statement, Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), downplayed concerns about security conditions in Mexico, asserting that “problems occur in every country in the world, and we do not live in a perfect world without mistakes.”
Infantino also expressed his full confidence in the Mexican authorities and their ability to manage the situation safely and effectively, noting that Mexico is a host country ready to face potential challenges.
The FIFA president’s statement comes at a time when concerns about potential security incidents during the World Cup finals in the summer are increasing. However, he was keen to allay these concerns and affirm the country’s readiness to organize the events safely.
He concluded by saying that FIFA is closely monitoring all developments and is working in collaboration with local authorities to ensure the safety of all participants and fans during the World Cup.
