Galatasaray Opens Negotiations to Sign Bensebaini from Dortmund

Today, press reports revealed Galatasaray’s serious interest in signing Algerian international defender Ramy Bensebaini, a player for Borussia Dortmund, to strengthen the team’s lineup during the ongoing winter transfer window in Turkey, which continues until Thursday.

Journalist Nicolo Schira confirmed that the Galatasaray management has already begun official moves to sign the 30-year-old player, as part of coach Okan Buruk’s plan to strengthen the defense line with experienced names capable of providing an immediate impact.

Galatasaray’s interest in Ben Sebaini stems from his significant tactical flexibility, as he excels in playing both as a central defender and a left-back with high efficiency, making him an ideal solution for the team’s defensive challenges.

The player is delivering good performances this season in the German league, having participated in 11 matches in which he scored one goal and assisted three others, before joining the Algerian national team for the Africa Cup of Nations that was held recently.

The Algerian star is under contract with the Black and Yellows until the summer of 2027, while his current market value is estimated at around 7 million euros.

Galatasaray’s management is racing against time to finalize the agreement with the German side and officially conclude the deal, aiming to strengthen the team’s roster as they aspire to maintain their lead in the Turkish league and compete strongly in upcoming European competitions.
