Details of Patrício Pacífico’s Transfer to Barcelona

The young 19-year-old Uruguayan left-back Patricio Pacifico is preparing to join Barcelona’s reserve team in the upcoming period, coming from the Uruguayan club Defensor Sporting, as revealed by Uruguayan journalist Rodri Vázquez in his report for the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo.”

Pacífico is scheduled to travel between Tuesday and Wednesday to Barcelona to join the reserve team’s training under the leadership of coach Juliano Belletti.

The deal was based on a loan with an option to purchase 80% of the player’s rights for 3 million euros, with the possibility of increasing this amount to 3.8 million euros according to specific variables. One of the conditions for activating the purchase option is the player’s participation for at least 30 minutes in 10 matches over the next five months.

The agreement also stipulated that Defensor Sporting Club would retain 20% of the value of any future sale of the player, while the player and his agent waived part of their financial entitlements.

With this deal, Barcelona adds a young signing to its reserve team project, with an opportunity to develop the player within the Catalan club’s academy.
