Chelsea Star Loves Football, We Want to Keep Improving

Chelsea coach Liam Rosenior appeared in a press statement following the 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton in the 25th round of the English Premier League.

The coach said, “The first half was perfect, as expected from an away match at this level. Our pressing was excellent, and our passing was superb. We put ourselves in a very strong position. In the second half, we aspired for more. Our level dropped. It was difficult because the conditions were not ideal. It was a tough day for both teams in terms of the pitch and the rain. Overall, I am very happy with the three points we secured away from home.”

He added about controlling the match after Wolverhampton’s strong start: “We took possession of the ball, passed it around, and managed to take offensive positions. Once we did that, we showed that we are a very strong team. Obviously, I’m very happy for Cole [Palmer]. There was a lot of talk about him, about how happy he is – and he looked happy today with his three goals. But we could have scored more goals in the first half, and we need to keep improving, there are a lot of positives. But I want us to continue focusing on what we can improve. We have a tough match on Tuesday against a strong Leeds team.”

Regarding Cole Palmer, who scored a hat-trick: “He loves playing football. I enjoy watching him. Not just him, but the whole team. When they’re in high spirits, performing well, and their mindset is right, they are a fantastic group of players. Cole is definitely a player we want on the field most of the time. We hope he stays physically fit now.”

He continued: “I don’t mean to belittle Wolverhampton. They performed well in the second half, made things difficult for us, and sent crosses into our penalty area. But those moments came as a result of our complacency. We lost the ball easily, whereas in the first half we were precise in our passing. These are things we need to improve in the upcoming matches.”

Concluding about winning his first four league matches, he said: “It couldn’t be better than this, could it? Especially in the Premier League. When you take on a new role at a big club, you want a strong start. I believe we’ve achieved that, and I think we have a lot more to offer, which is very exciting considering the team’s potential. As long as we continue to improve while securing victories, it will be a source of immense joy for me as a coach.”
