Chelsea legend Eden Hazard launches shock new business venture after retiring from football

EDEN HAZARD has swapped goals for grapes – with the Chelsea icon becoming a WINEMAKER.

The Belgium ace produced plenty of vintage displays during his seven years at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard, 35, won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, League Cup and two Europa League crowns before a £90million move to Real Madrid in 2019.

The injury-plagued midfielder retired in 2023, and has since led a low-profile existence.

But Hazard has now teamed up with Italian wine company boss Fabio Cordella to launch his own range of wines.

Grown in Italy, they will go on sale there and in Belgium from next month.

And Hazard, the former toast of the Blues, will instead be known for his whites and reds.

Cordella, 50, has previously been the sporting director at several football clubs including Belgians Union Saint-Gilloise.

He announced: “Eden Hazard’s official wine is arriving very soon.

“When Belgian talent meets the excellence of premium Italian wine, it creates a vintage in Eden’s image – elegant, intense and iconic.

“A wine of character, born in the earth of Salento, and with the signature of the Fabio Cordella Wines family business.

“Available in Belgium soon.  The wine of a champion – and the taste of victory.”

Cordella’s company has previously launched wines for other high-profile footballers, including Ronaldinho and Gianluigi Buffon.

Hazard made 352 Chelsea appearances, scoring 110 goals, following his £32m move from Lille in 2012.

This comes after the Belgium hero hilariously reunited with Charlie Morgan – the ball boy, who was famously kicked by the former star winger during a League Cup semi-final second leg tie in 2013.

The incident made headlines after a match between Chelsea and Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.

The Welsh outfit were 10 minutes away from booking their place in the final and Morgan attempted to waste time by refusing to hand Chelsea the ball.

Hazard then kicked the then 17-year-old in frustration before receiving a red card.

And the Swans held on to set up a Wembley showdown against Bradford – who they beat 5-0 in the final.

Morgan has since gone on to the beverage business himself by becoming a vodka entrepreneur worth a cool £40m.

And in brilliant scenes, the former ball boy and Hazard reunited as friends for a cheeky photo as they posed with the former’s drink brand.
