Chelsea and Manchester United Compete to Sign Murillo

The ‘Fichajes’ website reported that Chelsea has entered the race strongly to sign Brazilian defender Murillo, the star of Nottingham Forest, while Manchester United considers him a top priority to strengthen their defense in the summer of 2026. The player is only 23 years old and has played 100 official matches in England so far, contributing to the attack with three goals and two assists.

Chelsea plans to restructure its defense after excluding some players like Axel Disasi and is looking for a reliable partner for Levi Colwill. Murillo is considered ideal for building play from the back and providing the physical strength required in the defensive line.

As for Manchester United, they are seeking to renew their defensive core amid the uncertainty of Harry Maguire’s contractual future. Signing Murillo is seen as a strategic step to enhance the team’s strength against direct competitors.

The results of Nottingham Forest in the league will affect Murillo’s market value, as the team’s relegation could make signing the player more financially viable. Both Chelsea and Manchester United are preparing to make initial offers to convince the player’s entourage.

The deal is expected to be finalized during the summer transfer window, making it one of the most prominent and expensive deals in the English Premier League, as major clubs compete to sign a defender who guarantees defensive security for his team for a full decade.
