Celta Coach Objects to Refereeing After Defeat by Real Madrid

Celta Vigo coach Claudio Giraldez expressed his protest against the goal scored by Federico Valverde in the 94th minute during the match against Real Madrid, asserting that there was a clear foul on his player Fer Lopez that was not acknowledged by the referee or the video assistant referee.

Geraldez explained that the player was clearly obstructed by the opponent, and the play should have been stopped before the play that resulted in the goal was completed.

The coach said, “There is an action that deserves a yellow card, and the mistake is clear,” expressing his feeling of injustice after the refereeing decisions that affected the outcome of the match.

The match also saw protests from Celta Vigo regarding some other refereeing decisions, such as a handball inside the penalty area that was not awarded as a penalty kick. However, the most notable incident was the foul on Fer López before Real Madrid’s decisive goal.

With this 1-2 result, Real Madrid continues to chase the top spot in the Spanish league race, while Celta Vigo is left disappointed after losing a valuable point in a match that was evenly matched until the final moments.
