Barcelona Monitors Young Ajax Star

Barcelona is showing great interest in the young winger Mika Goots, a 20-year-old player from Ajax, following his remarkable performance this season, according to the Spanish newspaper “Sport.” This comes at a time when Ajax is experiencing a severe sports crisis, having lost all chances of competing for the league title, while Jordi Cruyff, the new sporting director, is seeking to rebuild the team.

Götze is a fast and exceptional player in one-on-one situations, having scored 10 goals and assisted 9 this season, making him undoubtedly one of Ajax’s key players. He often plays on the left wing with his opposite foot and has proven to have a significant impact in matches, which has attracted the attention of major European clubs, including Barcelona and Arsenal, who have closely followed the player on several occasions.

The newspaper explained that Napoli, Roma, and Stuttgart have also shown interest in signing the player, while Ajax currently does not wish to sell him unless exceptional offers are made, considering Götze as the cornerstone for rebuilding the team next season.

The report indicates that Barcelona might have priority due to the good relations between the two clubs and the presence of Jordi Cruyff at Ajax. Nevertheless, signing Marcus Rashford on a permanent basis remains a priority for the Catalan team next summer, with the option to acquire Götze for 30 million euros if the financial terms and salaries align with the player.
