Barcelona Announces Renewal for New Young Talent

FC Barcelona officially announced the extension of midfielder Joan Hernandez’s contract, keeping him tied to the club until June 30, 2028, with the possibility of extending the contract for an additional year as per the agreement between both parties.

Hernandez was born on July 21, 2007, in the city of Teruel, and he joined the La Masia academy in the summer of 2020, coming from the youth ranks of Real Zaragoza. He is currently in his sixth season with the club.

This season, he was promoted to the reserve team, where he now wears the number 20 after previously wearing number 30. He participated in twenty matches with the team, scoring four goals and providing four assists.

Hernandez was also included in the first team’s roster for a European match against Slavia Prague in the Champions League, reflecting his progress and growing status within the club’s system.
