Sesko behaviour after Man Utd winner against Fulham says it all | Football | Sport

Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko was seen training on the Old Trafford pitch just 30 minutes after netting the decisive goal against Fulham, under the watchful eye of Travis Binnion. The post-match session, attended by a handful of spectators and stewards, highlighted Sesko’s dedication despite his limited game-time under Michael Carrick.
The scene was a stark contrast to the euphoria that erupted when Sesko scored the last-minute winner. The striker had started six consecutive matches and bagged three goals in two games under Darren Fletcher, before being left on the bench during the Manchester derby.
His playing time was further reduced to a mere ten minutes in United’s victory over Arsenal, where he replaced injured Patrick Dorgu after the latter picked up an injury.
Sesko’s limited appearances coincide with the return of Amad and Bryan Mbeumo from the Africa Cup of Nations. However, following Mbeumo’s under-par performance, Sesko has once again put himself forward as a potential starter.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Sesko said: “That was unbelievable. Scoring at home and scoring the winner is unbelievable.”
He added: “I’ve been dreaming about that and dreaming that I can do that. We all know as a team how important these results are. We are on a really great run right now, and we are just hoping that we can continue to work hard like that to win games. I’m really happy that I could help the team out. We can continue our streak now.”
Discussing Carrick’s approach to encouraging the squad to express themselves freely, Sesko confirmed: “It’s true, he has said these things many times to the team.
“That’s exactly what we are doing. But it’s not just that, you can see how much we work hard for each other without the ball, and that also contributes to good results in the end.
“The work-rate is definitely different; everyone is on point and covering their spaces. In the end, that’s what counts.
“The aim is to continue like this. We want to focus on our work and what we have to do. We have worked hard like we are and focus on every moment. All of this is going to lead to great results.”
