The final matchday of the Champions League league phase certainly lived up to expectations during a thrilling night of football on Wednesday evening. There were as many as 18 matches being played simultaneously, with the table taking many different shapes across the 90 minutes of action. Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Tottenham, Barcelona, Chelsea, Sporting and Man City all finished in the top eight and confirmed their places in the round of 16. While some big teams are into the play-offs, with the draw being made from 11am GMT this Friday.

The Champions League play-off draw

Going into the draw each club has two potential opponents in the play-off round, ranked on where they finished between ninth and 24th in the league phase table. The draw is as follows:

Monaco or Qarabag vs PSG or Newcastle

Club Brugge or Galatasaray vs Juventus or Atlético Madrid

BodøGlimt or Benfica vs Real Madrid or Inter Milan

Borussia Dortmund or Olympiacos vs Atalanta or Bayer Leverkusen

Who are the eliminated teams?

Marseille, Pafos, Union Saint-Gilloise, PSV, Athletic Club, Napoli, FC Copenhagen, Ajax, Eiintrahct Frankfurt, Slavia Prague, Villarreal, and Kairat Almaty are all all out of the competition.
