Arne Slot makes feelings clear on Andy Robertson exit with Liverpool in talks | Football | Sport

It’s been widely reported that no final decision has been reached on Robertson’s future. Nevertheless, Liverpool are thought to be in discussions with Spurs, who are keen to secure the defender before next month’s transfer deadline.
Robertson came off the bench during Liverpool’s loss to Bournemouth on Saturday evening, replacing summer signing Milos Kerkez at the interval.
Following the defeat at the Vitality Stadium, Slot was questioned about Robertson’s future, with the Liverpool manager outlining why the Scotland international remains crucial to his plans.
“I think I need all of my players,” Slot told Sky Sports.
“I thought, let’s bring Robbo in at half-time to make sure Milos stays available for the rest of the season, because there are a lot of games to be played with the players that are available.
“I have to manage that as well because the last thing we need right now is another injury.”
When probed about Liverpool’s transfer plans and how they might affect Robertson’s future at Anfield, Slot remained tight-lipped.
“No updates in terms of transfers,” he stated, adding: “I never speak in public about transfers. There’s nothing to say on my side.”
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank was also questioned about the potential addition of Liverpool’s vice-captain to his team following their draw with Burnley.
He kept his cards close to his chest, saying: “Just on that one, in general as you don’t know me that well, I don’t speak about players that are not in the club – except Ronaldo and Messi. So, that’s no comment.”
