Barcelona Includes Osimhen in Offensive Options

Media reports have revealed that the name of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, a player for Galatasaray, has appeared on Barcelona’s list of interests to strengthen the striker position in the upcoming period.

The veteran Polish striker Robert Lewandowski is close to leaving Barcelona at the end of his contract this season, as several previous reports indicated that the Catalan club is likely not to extend his contract.

The Athletic reported that Julian Alvarez, the Atletico Madrid forward, tops Barcelona’s wishlist to replace Lewandowski, with several alternative options available, especially given the difficulty of signing him due to Atletico Madrid’s high financial demands.

The report indicated that Victor Osimhen is among the prominent alternative options considered by Barcelona, but he remains just a name on a long list of players being monitored, with no additional steps taken yet to initiate discussions for his signing.

It is noted that Osimhen joined Galatasaray in the summer of 2024 on loan from Napoli, before the Turkish club permanently purchased him the following year for 75 million euros.

The 27-year-old Nigerian forward participated in 25 matches with Galatasaray during the current season across various competitions.
