Most goals scored from corners in a Premier League season: Arsenal on verge of setting new record in title chase

As they hunt for the 2025-26 Premier League title, Arsenal have established themselves with a clear identity at the top of the English league table.
The Gunners have become set-piece kings this season, with their latest triumph a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in which both their goals (and that of their opponents as well) were scored on corner kicks.
Their biggest threat from corners has been Gabriel, whose three goals from corners this season — plus four more assists — make him a looming presence in the opposition penalty area.
The Sporting News takes a look at where Arsenal stand in Premier League history on goals from corner situations, and how they’ve become such a force.

Most goals from corners in Premier League history
The 2025-26 Arsenal team has scored the most goals from corners in Premier League history, profiting 16 times from their 541 corners on the season through 29 matches.
That equals the most all-time, which had been done three times previously according to Opta, including once by Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal two seasons prior.
“Every time I take a set piece now, people see it as set pieces, but I see it as a chance to help the team and assist and score because I know I can put in a good ball,” said Declan Rice, one of Arsenal’s main corner takers, during the season.

Who is Arsenal set piece coach Nicolas Jover?
Born in Berlin and raised in France, Nicolas Jover has led the charge at Arsenal as the Gunners flourish in set-piece situations.
After previous set-piece work at Montpellier, Croatia, Brentford, and Manchester City, the 44-year-old German was hired at Arsenal by Mikel Arteta in the summer of 2021, and has built a dead-ball juggernaut at the Emirates.
Jover has honed in on requiring precision from his set-piece takers, with the rest of the movement falling into place.
“We had three or four different variations each week, so in some sessions, it was just the takers landing the ball on a cone,” said Spanish midfielder Jota, who worked with Jover at Brentford. “He told us not to worry about the other part. He wanted perfection. We did not have a five-metre zone, it had to be exactly there. I had practised enough that I knew it would be the perfect ball and who would score.”
In the 2023/24 season, Jover’s Arsenal scored 20 goals from set pieces (excluding penalties), leading the league that year and equaling the record for most goals from corners.
This season, they are even outdoing that, as they reached 16 goals from corners by the 29th game of the campaign, and 25 overall from set pieces.
When healthy, the two individuals to deliver dead balls at Arsenal thisseason have been Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice, with the latter assisting three goals so far this season from corners. Thanks in part to their set piece prowess, Rice and Saka rank second and third in chances created in the Premier League this season behind Bruno Fernandes.
