Manchester City Manager: We Expected to Face Real Madrid, and We Will Try to Win the Title

Hugo Viana, the sporting director of Manchester City, spoke to “beIN Sports” following the draw for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, which pitted them against Real Madrid in a classic encounter.

Vianna said in his speech: “We expected to face Real Madrid a few days ago (laughs). Well, it will be a very good match against Real Madrid, it will undoubtedly be a major match, and it will be of a very high level.”

He added, “Both teams will be ready for this match.”

He continued: “Who will be the candidate to qualify? There is no favorite in such matches, in such competition, and in such a situation. We do not think about who will be favored.”

He concluded: “Are Real Madrid and Manchester City aiming to win the Champions League title? Yes, but we know the difficulty of the competition. Nevertheless, we strive to compete for all the titles we participate in, including the Champions League. We know how hard it is to win the Champions League, but we will try.”
