Enrique Appears in the Barcelona Election Race

Joan Laporta is considered one of the prominent names in the electoral scene, relying on the support of German coach Hansi Flick, who took on the task with the backing of the former president and led the team back to winning titles, achieving the league, cup, and super cup in the past season. Flick has also publicly expressed his support for Laporta on several occasions, emphasizing that the club needs stability at this stage.
On the other hand, the other potential candidates, Victor Font, Marc Seria, and Xavi Vilajoana, expressed their support for Flick to continue coaching the first football team. However, new information has revealed a name that may strongly enter the electoral discussion.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Sport,” the name Luis Enrique will be proposed by one of the candidates aspiring to succeed Laporta in the main box of the Spotify Camp Nou stadium.
Luis Enrique is under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 30, 2027. The source explained that the Spanish coach wishes to return to Barcelona at some point in his coaching career, indicating a high likelihood of his return to the Catalan capital.
According to the same source, it is likely that one or more of the candidates will use Luis Enrique’s name during the election campaign in an attempt to persuade club members to vote for them in the elections scheduled to take place in just over two weeks.
