Atalanta Qualifies for Champions League Round of 16 with Dramatic Win Over Dortmund

Atalanta achieved a dramatic victory over Borussia Dortmund with a score of 4-1 in the second leg of the playoff qualifying for the Champions League round of 16, at the New Balance Arena.

The first leg ended with Dortmund winning 2-0, but Atalanta advanced to the round of 16 with an aggregate score of 4-3.

Atalanta took the lead through Gianluca Scamacca in the 5th minute, then Davide Zappacosta scored a second goal in the 45th minute. In the 57th minute, Mario Pasalic scored a third goal, while Karim Adeyemi scored Dortmund’s only goal in the 75th minute.

Dortmund played with ten players after Schlotterbeck and Bensebaini were sent off, while Lazar Samardžić scored a fourth goal for Atalanta from a penalty in the 90+8 minute.
