Xavi Postpones Decision to Coach Moroccan National Team Until After World Cup

Spanish media reports have revealed the stance of Spanish coach Xavi Hernandez regarding taking over the coaching of the Moroccan national football team, should an official decision be made for the departure of the current coach, Walid Regragui.

According to the same sources, the former coach of Barcelona expressed his apologies for not leading the national team in the 2026 World Cup finals, scheduled to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The reports added that Xavi informed the officials of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation of his desire to postpone considering the offer until after the conclusion of the World Cup, without making a final decision at the moment.

In a related context, there have been reports about the possibility of assigning a role within the technical management to former Spanish star Andrés Iniesta, as part of a trend to involve Spanish names in the upcoming phase.

The fate of Regragui with the national team remains uncertain until an official announcement is made by the federation to resolve the ongoing debate about the future of the coaching staff.
