Atletico Madrid Crushes Espanyol in La Liga

Espanyol opened the scoring early through Jofre Carreras in the sixth minute, before Atletico Madrid equalized with a goal from Alexander Sorloth in the 21st minute, ending the first half in a 1-1 draw.
In the second half, Atlético Madrid took the lead with a second goal by Giuliano Simeone in the 49th minute, then Ademola Lookman added the third goal in the 58th minute, before Sorloth came back to score the fourth goal in the 72nd minute.
Espanyol reduced the deficit by scoring a second goal in the 80th minute through Edu Expósito, ending the match with Atlético Madrid winning 4-2. This victory raised Atlético’s tally to 48 points, placing them fourth in the Spanish league standings, while Espanyol’s points remained at 35, leaving them in sixth place.
