Man Utd ace Benjamin Sesko shows true colours with Michael Carrick comment | Football | Sport

Benjamin Sesko has revealed his genuine thoughts on Manchester United boss Michael Carrick. The former Red Devils midfielder succeeded Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford last month on a temporary basis until the end of the season. Since his interim appointment, Carrick has maintained an unbeaten record during his second stint in charge of United. He claimed victories in his opening four fixtures against Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham before drawing 1-1 with West Ham.

The star of that most recent draw was Sesko, whose exceptional strike salvaged a point after coming off the substitutes’ bench. He also netted in stoppage time against Fulham, helping his team clinch a 3-2 triumph. Sesko, who joined Manchester during the summer in a staggering £74million transfer, was questioned about his adaptation under Carrick and used just four words to describe his true feelings.

He added: “That’s already meaning a lot really, but as well he is a really good coach. Not just him, the whole staff that has come in with him. They are working unbelievably.

“They are giving all the details that you need to improve and to get better and the details to know what to do in a game, because it’s important.

“They are also always good with communicating, be and all the other staff. So I am really happy that he came here and also happy about what he has achieved.”

Carrick returned the compliment during his post-match press conference following the 1-1 stalemate with the Hammers. The boss lavished praise upon his forward after a remarkable strike in the dying moments.

“It’s always a balance,” Carrick explained when questioned about bringing Sesko off the bench. “The boys who have played have done fantastically well.

“That’s the importance of the group, I say it after every game. Ben is doing a lot of work, he is in a really good place and he is ready to kick on.

“It’s managing the balance. We could have changed things earlier, but when he came on he made a big difference. It was an unbelievable finish.

“From that angle, to generate that and to get it on target, it’s some finish. He is capable of that. But it’s not like he has suddenly burst onto the scene, he has proven he scores goals.

“He does it in training. The last one [a winner against Fulham] would have done him the world of good, but that was a big moment for him and for us.”
