Radio “RAC1” revealed that Barcelona has decided to avoid repeating what is known as the “Dru case,” where he joined Paris Saint-Germain last January for around 8 million euros, while his release clause was 6 million.

According to the source, the Catalan club has temporarily decided to halt the renewal of contracts for youth category players in order to restructure the release clauses in the new contracts in a way that ensures greater protection for its young talents.

According to the proposed amendments, the value of the release clause will be determined based on the stage the player reaches within the club. Upon first participating with the youth team, the player will have a release clause of 6 million euros, which will increase to 10 million euros when playing with the reserve team.

If the player reaches the first team and plays official matches, the release clause will significantly increase to 100 million euros.

This move by the Catalan club’s management reflects the club’s desire to secure its rising stars and prevent their departure with low offers, ensuring the protection of its investments in the “La Masia” academy.
