Dembele’s Statements Are Worthless, and This Is What We Missed

Enrique commented on what Ousmane Dembélé said after the match about how players should play for the club instead of thinking about themselves: “Players’ statements at the end of the match are absolutely worthless.”
He added, “The coaches’ statements are also meaningless, but the players’ statements? They are absolutely meaningless as well. I will not answer any questions from a player, and I will not allow any player to be above the club. I am the one responsible for the team, and that is clear.”
He continued: “I will not allow any player to think they are more important than the club, not me, not the sporting director, not the president, nor the club itself. Therefore, these statements are meaningless. They are just a result of anger after the match, and I think that is quite clear. We have nothing to lose.”
He continued, “Missing opportunities? It’s unbelievable. We created so many chances and had many opportunities, about four, but we only scored one goal. You have to score goals, and we lacked effectiveness, which is why we lost the match.”
