Laporta and Several Barcelona Board Members Resign

Barcelona Club officially announced the resignation of the current president Joan Laporta, along with several board members, on Monday, with the aim of running for the upcoming elections to be held on March 15, 2026, as stipulated in Article 42, and in accordance with the club’s bylaws, as stated in the official club statement.

The resignations included Vice President for Institutional Affairs Elena Fort, Vice President for Social Affairs Antonio Escudero, as well as members Ferran Olivella, Josep Maria Abet, Xavi Barbany, Miquel Camps, Aureli Mas, Xavi Puig, and Joan Soler, to participate in the upcoming electoral process.

After these resignations, the board will continue to perform its duties until the end of the term scheduled for June 30, 2026, with an interim formation including Rafael Yuste as president, Josep Cubells as vice president, and Alfonso Castro as treasurer, in addition to members Josep Ignasi Matia, Angel Riodalbas, Joan Sole Sust, and Cisco Pujol.

The club confirmed that the new formation completed the official board meeting according to the specified agenda, maintaining administrative operations until the end of the term.
