Behind the Scenes of Flamengo’s Negotiations with Nunez and the Final Outcome of the Deal

The Brazilian journalist Gabriel Orfão revealed the behind-the-scenes details of Flamengo’s failed attempt to sign the Uruguayan striker Darwin Núñez, a player for Al Hilal, during the current transfer window.

Orfao explained that Flamengo’s management contacted Al Hilal to inquire about the terms of loaning Darwin Núñez, as the Brazilian club is seeking strong offensive reinforcement.

The Brazilian journalist pointed out through his official accounts that the high financial demands of the player were the biggest obstacle, as Darwin Núñez earns an annual salary estimated at 16 million euros with Al Hilal.

The report confirmed that these financial figures caused Flamengo to back down from proceeding with the negotiations, despite its serious interest in signing the Uruguayan striker.

In the same context, journalist Fabrizio Romano denied Nunez’s move to Turkish club Fenerbahce, following Al Hilal’s completion of the deal to sign French star Karim Benzema.

Al Hilal Club strengthened its ranks in the winter by signing Karim Benzema from Al Ittihad, which enhanced the attacking competition within the blue team.

It is noted that Al Hilal signed Darwin Núñez, who is 26 years old, from Liverpool last summer. He participated in 22 matches, scoring 7 goals and providing 5 assists over 1,487 minutes of play.
