Al-Ittihad Targets Mohamed Salah as a Replacement for Benzema in the New Season

The union’s interest in Salah comes as an effort to fill the significant gap left by the departure of French striker Karim Benzema, who moved to Al Hilal during the last winter transfer window.
Mohamed Salah is considered one of the most prominent names that have attracted the interest of Saudi clubs for several seasons, as evidenced by the substantial offers previously received by Liverpool from Roshn League clubs.
The Egyptian star spent nine consecutive seasons within Liverpool’s walls since 2017, but the current season has not been ideal, prompting the federation to make him one of its main targets, according to the Portuguese newspaper “A Bola.”
Despite Salah signing a new contract with Liverpool, the relationship between the two parties has experienced noticeable tension, especially following the player’s statements in December, during which he expressed his dissatisfaction with how he was being treated.
Union officials believe that signing Salah will provide the team with tremendous offensive and marketing strength, aligning with the club’s ambitions for local and continental competition in the upcoming seasons.
It is noted that Benzema’s departure to Al Hilal sparked widespread controversy, especially since he was a decisive factor in Al Ittihad’s victory in the Roshn League and the King’s Cup last season.
